EcoPure®
Plastic materials display many unique properties and have contributed greatly to our quality of life. Plastics, when properly applied, will perform functions at a cost that other materials cannot match. Plastics are used in our clothing, housing, automobiles, aircraft, packaging, electronics, signs, recreation items, and medical implants to name but a few of their many applications. These many advantages come with a price, however. The durability and strength of plastics mean that they are difficult to dispose of and tend to persist in the environment for extremely long periods of time. Due to their cheapness, plastics are rarely recycled and are usually landfilled when they out live their usefulness. Landfilled plastics are likely to remain buried… “forever”. |

What is the solution? EcoPure®
EcoPure® is a revolutionary product that has the potential to change the way the world looks at plastic waste disposal. Ordinary plastics are biodegradable, but can take extremely long to do so because of their inherent strength and durability. EcoPure® is a proprietary blend of organic ingredients that has been specially formulated to substantially increase the rate of biodegradation* of treated plastics. Best of all, EcoPure® does not destroy the desirable properties of the plastic in the process! For example, EcoPure® treated PET water bottles will be just as durable, watertight, and have the same shelf life as an untreated PET bottle. In most applications EcoPure® can be added to plastic at a ratio of 1% by weight, so it is cost effective as well.
EcoPure® is compatible with various types of plastics, including the following: HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PET, PETG, PP, GPPS, HIPS, Nylon, PVC, EVOH, and Polycarbonate.
* Biodegradation rates of EcoPure®-treated plastic materials measured according to the ASTM D5511 test method. Tests are generally conducted using 20% to 30% solids content; solids content in naturally wetter landfills range from 55% to 65%, while the driest landfills may reach 93%. Actual biodegradation rates will vary in biologically-active landfills according to the type of plastic used, the product configuration, and the solid content, temperature and moisture levels of the landfill.
